This beautiful national park of tropical rainforests got its name from the tranquil silence it has due to the absence of cicadas which is usual found in other rainforests. It contains diverse flora and fauna and is part of the Niligiri Biosphere Reserve. It is also a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is situated in near Mannarkad town of Palakkad district in Kerala State, India.
